Biography

Karen Withem is a content creator who draws upon her eclectic background in business, journalism and the arts with each new project.  Highlights of Karen’s accomplishments: 

  • Provide strategic counsel to businesses to grow brands and manage reputation

  • Create strategic partnerships, build stakeholder cohesion and develop messaging to reach multiple audiences

  • Develop and implement multi-tiered communications programs which drive traffic and result in millions of dollars in earned media

 

  • Provide media training and managed messaging for C-suite executives

  • Produce on-demand mobile learning solution for use with portable devices​

 

  • Produced "A Crisis Within," a documentary style short for NYC-based Women's Equal Justice Project

  • Wrote and produced "Taking Flight for a Greener Future," a branded content video on Los Angeles International Airport’s recycling and other environmentally geared programs

  • Wrote and directed "Stand Up," a fantasy narrative short film chosen by Ovation TV and Rockethub for funding partnership

  • Directed "A Rude Awakening," an award-winning independent short film about a woman who suspects her doctor of trying to steal her identity

 

  • Produced and hosted a public affairs series on religion and social issues. Guests included the late tap dancing pioneer Fayard Nicholas, and Judge Dorothy Nelson, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit

 

Ms. Withem began her career as a photojournalist, covering city council and school board meetings in Southern California. She graduated magna cum laude from UCLA with a degree in Economics.
